Primary 4 and 5 have had a busy month looking at Scottish poetry. They have learnt a Scottish poem- well done to everybody for their efforts. Mrs Harrison was proud of everyone and a special mention to Hugh and Ross who were our winners. We have also been trying to write our own poems. We had great fun learning some new Scottish words and trying to use them to write a poem.

The Bubblyjock by Jackson M

I am a Bubblyjock

a hackit mingin Bubblyjock.

Weechin and Skiten in

the snaw and glaur

and howks muckle holes.

The BubblyJock

I am a bubblyjock

a hackit  mingin bubblyjock.

I bide in

a muckle field.

I jump like

a tottie puddock.

In the day I eat

in the nicht I sleep.

The Tad Tod

I am a tod, a tap tod

livin in ma burrow with

ma twa tousie weans.

On the brae haen deuk for our tea

with a wee siller burn

tricklin doon the brae.

With a wee small clachan

at the bottom there we get our food.

we are puir but it’s every thing tods dream of.

The BubbyJock

I see a hackit bubblyjock  dookin  in a burn.

It’s drookit in the water and he’s yatterin wae the cauld

He bides in the glaur

He’s a muckle mingin bubblyjock

I am a Hoolet

in the broon tree.

Eating mooses for my tea.

I am  a Hoolet

Gliding to a tree

and drifting  aft to sleep.

But marra I’ll be looking

upon the siller moon.

I’ll glide doon to your hoose

and I ll eat all your mooses.
