Alexander Goudie

P7 were lucky enough to visit the ‘Tam O’ Shanter Exhibition’ by Alexander Goudie at Rozelle House. We were taken around the exhibition and each painting was explained to us in great detail. We even learned new information i.e. the black crow in every picture is a symbol that something bad is going to happen to Tam. This was the first time that some people had been to an art exhibition before and we all really enjoyed it!

Our trip allowed us to study the style of Alexander Goudie and we used his paintings as inspiration for our class work. Our challenge was to try to replicate one of the Tam O’Shanter paintings. Take a look at how we got on…
