Children whose 5th birthday is between 1st March 2024 and 28th February 2025 should be registered for school in South Ayrshire week commencing Monday 15th January 2024.
Children should be registered online for their catchment denominational or non denominational primary school. When registering your child you will be asked to attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residence in the catchment area in the form of a Council Tax Notice and Utility Bill during the on-line registration process.
Parents may prefer to make a placing request for their child to attend any other school under the management of the education authority. Parents/carers should be aware that they must register their child online for their catchment denominational or non-denominational primary school and then make an online placing request to the school of their choice. Placing requests for session August 2024 should be completed by 31st January 2024.
Please be aware that if you choose to make a placing request you will no longer automatically be considered for a place at your catchment school.
If you intend to defer your child’s entry to Primary 1 for a further year you do not need to register your child for education but you must complete the deferred entry application online that is available week beginning 15th January 2024 and should be submitted no later than Friday 23rd February 2024. At the time of Early Years registration you will require to complete an online 3-5 year old application for a further year at an Early Years Centre.
