Student Council

The Student Council drives pupil voice and pupil engagement, allowing young people to have a say in how they want Ayr Academy to be run. The council is split into three ‘portfolios’: Eco & Community, Education and Equality & Diversity, allowing members to tackle a wide range of issues and concerns that they may have about a particular area. The Council, accommodated by the Social Subjects department, is entirely student-led and provides an opportunity to build confidence and learn key skills such as leadership and teamwork.

The Student Council works alongside the Class Representatives, Senior Management, the School Captains, and various extracurricular groups around the school to create a better learning experience for all students.
