Message from the Pupil Council We, the Pupil Council wanted to let you know that we will be collecting items for the South Ayrshire Foodbank Appeal during December. We have attached their calendar so you can see the kinds of things they are looking for. To be honest any donation is great, but please don’t worry if you can’t give anything. We know Christmas time is really busy and can be expensive. We are focussing on acts of kindness and making our own Pupil Kindness Advent Calendar for the whole school to enjoy. Term Two has been a busy and exciting time in P5, filled with hands-on learning and new discoveries across the curriculum! Maths In Maths, we have been exploring symmetry, transformations and angles. The class has enjoyed investigating different types of symmetry and experimenting with flips, slides and turns. We will soon be moving on to our new topic: Money, where we’ll be learning about budgeting, calculating change and real-life problem-solving. Literacy In Literacy, we have been developing our discursive writing skills. Here is our class update for Term 2: We will continue to have PE on Monday afternoons. We are currently having football sessions with coaches from Ayr United. Our second PE day alternates between Tuesdays and Fridays so it is best to make sure your child’s PE kit is in school every day. Please can children bring a change of shorts/ joggers/ leggings, t-shirt and gym shoes/trainers. No jewellery should be worn. Welcome back to our P7/6 blog! We’ve had a busy and exciting Term 2. Our main literacy focus this term has been persuasive writing. We have been learning how to: Use strong points and evidence Include persuasive language and rhetorical questions Structure our writing clearly Share our opinions confidently and respectfully We’ve enjoyed choosing topics we care about and learning how to write pieces that inform, convince, and persuade. An issue with pdf uploaded to Glow Blogs has recently developed. Our developers are looking at the issue to create a fix. The issue is that pdfs uploaded to Glow Blogs are ‘truncated’ to one page. We hope this is fixed soon. There are a few workarounds you can use in the meantime.
