Dear Parent/Carer

We are looking forward to welcoming your child to Woodlands Primary School in August 2024.  At Woodlands Primary, we work closely with our nursery partners, sharing information and supporting children and parents through our induction programme.  We recognise the transition from nursery to primary school is a huge change for your little ones and we want to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Our transition programme includes opportunities for your child to explore their new school environment, including the classroom, playground and lunch hall.  They will also be paired with a P7 buddy,  In May and June, the class teacher will also visit your child in their nursery setting.  Attending these events will help prepare your child for starting at Woodlands Primary School.  If you are unable to attend, we will ensure all information and presentations will be available on the school website.
