What a huge success our book event was tonight! Thanks to everyone who came along! The presentation to parents about the Literacy Project was well received and the children loved the reading cafe! Thanks to all for taking part in all of our activities and for your positive feedback! Thanks to all staff involved for their hard work in preparing the session!

Special thanks to our wonderful senior pupils for setting up their own stalls to “sell” their own books! They were fanatastic and I was very proud of them! #luckyheadteacher

Look out for our gifting sessions on Wednesday where pupils in P2 and P3 will come home with their Read, Write, Count bags!

Save the Children Assembly

Ask your child about our Save the Children assembly today. We were delighted to be joined by Anne Strang who told us all about the work of Save the Children.

We will get our thinking caps on and see if we can raise some funds to help Save the Children. We were all impressed with what great work they do! Photos to follow!

Talent Show Auditions!

It’s that time of year again!   Preparations are underway for our annual Talent Show.  In previous years we have had musicians, singers, dancers, pianists, gymnasts and cheerleaders to name a few! Each stage will put forward two acts for the event on Friday 8th December.

Before the main event, each class will hold auditions to decide on the two acts going forward.  Classes are holding their auditions on different dates so please see below for audition details.  On audition days, pupils will need to bring in everything they need for their audition.

Good luck everyone!

Audition Dates

Primary 1:  Wednesday 29th November

Primary 2: Friday 1st December

Primary 3: Tuesday 28th November

Primary 4-7: Monday 4th December

Non-Uniform Day

Just a reminder that tomorrow (Friday 24th Nov) is a non-uniform day.  Pupils have been asked to make a donation for the Fayre in exchange for not wearing uniforms.

Friday HT Update

What a great week it has been at Wallace Primary School and Nursery.

We had two great trips to the cinema to see Cars 3 and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the children had a great time. I was inundated with reports of the children and their excellent behaviour! It’s always wonderful to hear how well our pupils are representing the school in the community! #luckyheadteacher

Over the last few weeks I’ve spent quality time in classes during Literacy time. It’s been great to see the children working so hard and see their excellent attitude to their learning. I will be continuing these visits next week and look forward to  seeing the children at work!

This week I enjoyed homework club with Primary 2-4 and P5-7’s Art Club. It’s great to see our pupils benefiting from the range of extra curricular clubs on offer.

Today it was lovely to have assembly with the whole school, I have missed the last two due to other commitments. Why not ask the children about their ideas for our school vision and about digital leaders!

Look out for award winners on this blog!!

Have a great weekend
