What a fantastic week we had during #BookWeekScot @AttainRen !
On Monday, we had a Book Week Event. There were so many things going on – a Literacy presentation for parents, a Reading Cafe for children, book quizzes, recommendation stalls and much more! There were leaflets with information about Literacy in the Nursery-P1, P1-P3 and P4-7. These will soon be available to download on our website. We had a lot of positive feedback from the Event. Click below to read some of the lovely comments.
Throughout the week we had lots going on. P4-7 and P1-3 wrote books! Each stage wrote one chapter then passed it on. The finished products are amazing! Classes also created a reading display and transformed their libraries into cosy reading areas.
Thank you to everyone who came to our Event on Monday and to all staff and pupils for their hard work during Book Week. We can’t wait for Book Week 2018!
Our overall survey results were published in our newsletter, more details can be found here. These were discussed at our most recent Parent Council Meeting.

It’s that time of year again! Preparations are underway for our annual Talent Show. In previous years we have had musicians, singers, dancers, pianists, gymnasts and cheerleaders to name a few! Each stage will put forward two acts for the event on Friday 8th December.
Before the main event, each class will hold auditions to decide on the two acts going forward. Classes are holding their auditions on different dates so please see below for audition details. On audition days, pupils will need to bring in everything they need for their audition.
Just a reminder that tomorrow (Friday 24th Nov) is a non-uniform day. Pupils have been asked to make a donation for the Fayre in exchange for not wearing uniforms.
The P1 and P7 Eco Reps had a busy morning distributing Rag Bags to each class. Rag bags are used to recycle any old and unwanted clothes/shoes. The school will receive money based on the weight of the Rag Bags collected so it would be greatly appreciated if we could have as many returns as possible! The bags will be collected on Monday 20th November. Thank you for your help!
Thanks to everyone involved in making our Halloween Disco a huge success last night. The children had a great time, their costumes were fantastic and their behaviour was excellent.
Thanks to our wonderful PTA for organising the event and preparing the goodie bags. Thanks to the great turn out of parent helpers who came along to help. Thanks to the teachers who gave up their own time to support the event and to ‘Disco Dave’ for making it a great night.
