There was much excitement in the nursery on Monday.  Zoolab visited, showing the children a range of creepy crawlies.  The children and the P6 Nursery Ambassadors were very brave when handling the small animals.

The children in the nursery were developing their story telling skills by drawing Halloween themed pictures then telling the story.  Miss Morris has scribed for the children.  Read them if you dare!!!!!

There was fun and excitement with numbers, money, shape and measure in the nursery as part of Maths Week celebrations.  The Primary 6 pupils were given the task to create fun and engaging maths activities for the children in the nursery.   Using the theme of Beauty and the Beast the Primary 6 pupils planned a range of activities such as ‘What’s the Time Mr Wolf’, creating patterns on Belle’s dress, comparing nursery children’s size to that of Beauty and the Beast, searching for numbers in the water and setting up a cafe in the snack area where the children took orders and had money to ‘pay’ for their snack.  The Primary 6 Pupils were very effective in leading the learning.  (Happy Together. A great start to Maths Week in Wallace Nursery Class.  The children have been searching for numbers  amongst shaving foam.  They then successfully demonstrated their ability to identifying numbers to 10.  #Learning Together.

Thank you to all the Primary 6 pupils who submitted an application for the role of Nursery Ambassador. Completing the application form was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about the world of work! There were a high number of quality applications, here are a few examples. #Happy Together, Learning Together, Succeeding Together! X

All children in Wallace Nursery Class have settled back into the nursery routine.  Our pre-school children have welcomed all new starts and have been supporting them in making new friends.  Attached is the nursery newsletter with details of events and important dates.  Nursery Newsletter 1 – August 2018
