We aim to build a true respect for community in all our children, and we do this by supporting their engagement in all things local, whenever there is an opportunity.

In close walking distance, we have the benefit of a number of shops and businesses. The children bought the Nursery fish from the local pet shop, and worms for the wormery from the fishing shop. They have been able to get a behind the scenes look at a working kitchen in a local restaurant, and even had a tasty sample. They have bought decorations and resources from several small businesses, and have some exciting baking activities to look forward to in a supermarket.

As well as supporting local businesses, our children and families also take part in local litter walks and Autumn scavenger hunts.
