Settling In
On the first day, please arrive at the time shown on the front of this booklet to allow your child’s keyworker to settle the other children in their group and set aside time to greet your child personally. Your child will stay for 1 hour and we ask that you or another familiar adult will stay with them for this hour. This time will build up as they settle, until they are attending for their full session. Our settling in process will take 5 days therefore we would ask that you or a family member plan to set aside at least 1 to 2 weeks initially to help with this process. Settling in is taken at an individual pace and some children may need more support than others to become comfortable in the new environment. Please note your child may need more time to settle out with our procedures outlined below. It is important that your child should be happy in our early learning class and your child’s key worker will communicate with you to share how your child’s settling in period is progressing

Morning/Afternoon Placements:
Day 1 – 1 hour

Drop off and pick up Collection times
To minimise any disturbance to the children’s play and lunch times, we have set times when parents can come into the building to drop off or collect their child,
Parents can bring children into the early learning class in the morning at any time.
Parents/Carers of children on a morning placement should wait at the main door at 12.45pm and your child will be brought out to you by a member of staff
Children starting at 1pm should be brought to the main door and will be taken in by a member of staff.
Parents/Carers of children on a term time placement can come into the Atrium to collect their child. Doors open from 3.40pm.
