Learning/Froebel

The learning our children take part in is influenced by the work of Frederick Froebel. Froebel was a German Educator who created the very first kindergarten for children to develop and grow at their own pace. He believed that the earliest years of a child’s life were the most important in a child’s education and lay the foundations for later learning. The Froebelian approach is based on a set of principles, which we have incorporated into the daily life of our centre: Respect, Connectedness, Creativity, Freedom and guidance, Play outdoors, Community, Positive relationships, Well-informed qualified educators and Play, Talk and first-hand experiences.

We believe that children learn best when they have freedom and opportunity to follow their natural curiosity, where their creative talents are nurtured and staff can support and encourage deeper, meaningful experiences.  Play is at the heart of what we do and we know that children who are deeply engaged in real play are truly learning.
