Family and community were of central importance to Froebel, a value that we share here at Lochfield. Every child’s family is unique and families are a vital part of the Lochfield Community. We value parent’s as the child’s first educator and our aim is to work in partnership with families for the benefit of children. We offer families a home visit prior to beginning their journey at Lochfield. This is a really important time as it provides us with the opportunity to meet children within their own environment, where they feel most secure. This is an invaluable opportunity to start the foundations of a positive relationship, in hope that by working together we can build upon children’s prior knowledge.
We highly respect and value the views and contributions from families and believe in working collaboratively with families to provide high standard of quality care. Through our shared responsibility with you, we make decisions together that ensure your child is given the best possible start in life. We recognise the importance the contribution families can make to improve our service. We rely on feedback from our stakeholders to reflect upon our practice and evaluate our current practice.
We hope to keep all families up to date on everything that is happening in the centre. We are currently using the seesaw app and a private Facebook page, which we encourage families to join. This page will be used to share information and provide updates. We also feel it is important to celebrate family’s achievements within and outwith the centre. We actively encourage families to share their experiences and achievements on the page, as this provides opportunities for shared learning.
