Technologies in the Curriculum
Technology, defined as the application of knowledge and skills to extend human capabilities and to help to satisfy human needs and wants, has a profound effect on society. Scotland needs people to be aware of the impact of technologies on society, now and in the future. Learning in technologies provides a strong foundation for the development of skills and knowledge that will be essential in Scotland’s future.
Scotland has a long tradition of scientific discovery and excellence in innovation and technological advancement. Through learning in science and technologies, pupils will develop the interests, skills and abilities that will help them to continue to contribute to this longstanding impact of Scottish society.
Learning in technologies covers the following areas:

- All of our classrooms are equipped with a wall mounted smartboard which greatly enhances pupils learning experiences. Our gym hall is equipped with a large screen which is used for whole school assemblies and presentations.
- The school makes use of the online resource GLOW “a remarkable innovation which aims to link the nation’s schools in a network of education activity, creativity accomplishment plus success”.
