What is JHighTV?
We are launching a new extracurricular club which will bring a team of pupils and staff together to create regular television style content which will then be broadcast to the Johnstone High School Community.
What will this content look like?
Programmes will feature a range of content including interviews, news bulletins, performances, competitions and adverts. They will be as long or as short as the team decide and will be broadcast on a regular basis via a YouTube Channel.
How can you get involved?
At the moment, this will be an online project, but when we get back to more “normal” school life, meetings will take place online and in person. The team will get together to plan programmes and decide who will take on which job. You can apply for a particular role within the team and these roles are all explained here.
Developing Skills
It takes a range of skills to put together programmes like this. Roles like Producer require excellent leadership skills. An Editor must have a good knowledge of particular software. Script writers and composers require a high level of creativity. Presenters need to be confident and able to think on their feet.
Whatever role you take on, this project will give you an opportunity to develop the skills you need for your chosen career. This will be an excellent experience to talk about in a personal statement or application form.
