Wednesday 29th April – Literacy

Who do you miss?

  1. Have a little think (or chat!) about people that you are missing during lockdown. It could be special friends, relatives, a teacher etc.
  2. Choose one person that you are missing and make a card for them, to cheer them up! Make sure and write a kind and thoughtful message inside.
  3. Ask an adult if you are allowed to deliver or post it to them as part of your daily exercise. Please be mindful of hand sanitising and social distancing if you are out and about.

Tuesday 28th April – HWB

LI – I can describe ways to look after my physical and mental health.

Task One

Chat to an adult about what makes your body feel health and calm, especially during a time like this.

Task Two

To look after my physical and mental health during lockdown I have been doing lots of Yoga. Sometimes my dog, Mac tries to join in and I call that Doga!

Tuesday 28th April – Literacy

LI – I can spell most common words.

Today we are going to be looking at some words in the present and past tense. This list includes some examples that I know we find tricky, (Especially number 2!)

  10. ate

Active Spelling Tasks

Write them outside in chalk

Finger spell each word using BSL

Spell pass with a ball

Write a sentence for each word (10 in total!)

 

Monday 27th April – Safe

LI – I can describe how to stay safe.

We have been lucky enough to have some wonderful weather over the past few weeks.

Today your challenge is to research how we can stay safe in the sun. Then make a poster showing what steps you need to take to protect yourself. When you are finished, follow the steps and spend some time outside!

Monday 27th April – 2-D Shape

LI – I can identify 2-D shapes.

Any shape that can be laid flat on a piece of paper or any mathematical plane is a 2D shape.

LI – I can spell using British Sign Language.

We are so lucky in our classes that we have people  that communicate using lots of different languages. Today we are going to learn a little about British Sign Language. (BSL)

Task One

In your home learning booklet turn to page 10. Read the passage about British Sign Language and answer the questions below.

Remember to send a picture to your teacher!

Today we are going to think about doubles or near doubles.

This week we have been working on our money skills.

In your home learning booklet turn to page 37 and work through the three money challenge questions.

Friday 24th April -Creative Task

Today your creative task is to create or serve a meal at home for your family. It can either be breakfast, lunch or dinner. (You can do this at any point today or this weekend!)

Try and present the food nicely on the plate or bowl. You could even set the table before your meal. Use whatever you have at home and if you decide to cook, please ask an adult to help you.

We would love if you could post pictures of your meal, or table setting, or maybe you could write a recipe or instructions of how you made your meal.

Good luck!!!  It might earn you extra brownie points with parents/guardians at home!!!

Literacy: Birthday Card for Captain Tom

Have you heard in the news about Captain Tom Moore who is fundraising for the NHS? He is 99 years old and has raised millions for the NHS already!!! A true hero!
