Rationale:

A further survey garnered parents’ views of homework.

It was concluded that parents were generally satisfied with the range of homework tasks and the time allocation but would welcome some tips/guidance on how to best support their children.

Policy Guidelines:

Spelling and maths – 10 mins per night

Reading – discuss the story

Other –encourage child to discuss any difficulties

Consistent use of teaching strategies between school and home

Homework given out on a Monday to be returned following Monday.

Approx 30-40 mins per night

LCSC for Spelling

Encourage pupil to look at all homework at start of week and flag up any difficulties
