I cannot believe we are at the end of the year already. Please remember to bring in a plastic bag for work if you did not today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents that have helped with trips etc over this session. Remember school finishes at 1pm tomorrow. You may bring in a game or a toy as long as it is not sentimental or expensive. I wish you good luck in Primary 7 P6 and it has been a pleasure to teach you this year! Enjoy your summer holidays!
This will be our last ever walk to school Wednesday as Travel Champions! To celebrate this, we want to see you all in your sunglasses to accommodate the lovely weather we have been lucky enough to have recently!
Thank you for the amazing effort everyone has made this year and well done to all the winning classes.
These recipes may help you with your work this week. We will be looking at converting different weights to be able to buy ingredients for different recipes.
For our Climate Change topic this term, we created documentaries on iMovie to give explanations of what climate change is, how humans have affected it and what we can do to slow the process down. We enjoyed being anchormen/women and used lots of different images and sounds effects to engage our audience.
Last week our car engineering winners attended an event to compete with other schools. Both teams worked extremely hard and the primary 2/1 winners went on to win in their category! Well done to all involved!
We have been working really hard on equivalent fractions this term. Today, we learned how to order fractions with different denominators by converting them into equivalent fractions. We took ourselves outside to draw numberlines of fractions in the playground, which we then compared with others. We realised how useful our timetables were to help us!
A cricket coach will be teaching us how to play cricket this term. We had our first lesson today and we enjoyed being out in the sun! Today we learned how to hold a bat and how to stand properly when hitting the ball. Some of us were fantastic at hitting the ball far enough away to allow us to make loads of home runs. Here are some photos of our lesson.
P6 Cycling Proficiency will start Thursday next week (4th May) for P6G and Wednesday (3rd May) for P6P.
Miss Cauley and I will be teaching Level 1 this week and ask that you bring your bikes to school Friday this week, as well as the days next week for your class. Please remember to bring helmets.
This term I am opening book club to P4’s as well as 5, 6 and 7. Book Club will start Monday 8th May (as next week is a bank holiday) at the start of lunchtime. Please bring your lunch with you. Those attending should bring their own reading for pleasure book. Hope to see you there!
Today the ‘Guess the Sweeties in the Jar’ winner was announced! There were 270 sweeties in the jar and Sam J in P5H was the winner with his guess of 271. Well done Sam!
We are in the final stages of engineering our cars and today we got some of them to move down the corridor! We focused on putting the tops on the cars and decorating them to make them look colourful! It was fantastic to see so many of them move! Well done P6!
Today we completed a modelling task using recyclable materials. We made Eco Mascots! We had to give our mascot a name and a superpower, something that would be eco-friendly for the future! We enjoyed creating these and came up with some interesting ideas, such as a robot who eats litter and puts it back out as compost for planting! We plan to use them to create graphs to classify the mascots for our data analysis assessment!
A visitor came into P6 today to help us plant some seeds! The seeds came from lots of different vegetables such as green beans, peppers, chillies, beetroot, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. We had great fun planting all the veg and look forward to them growing!
Primary 4 and 5 gave a donation to comic relief today to take part in a Danceathon! They had to dance for 20 minutes to some well known songs. They were fantastic and definitely had some fantastic dance moves! Well done Primary 4 and 5!
