P4 Dynamic Earth Trip 10.11.16

Hi there,

Some of the children have been asking if they are allowed to bring money to Dynmaic Earth.  There is a gift shop on site and children are allowed to bring some spending money on the day if they wish.  A maximum of £5 is advised.  Many items are available for £1 or £2.  Please remember it is your child’s responsibilty to take care of their own money on the day. Timings are very tight and although we will try our best to get to the shop there is a chance that this may not be possible.

The bus leaves at 9.10am on Thursday and we would therefore ask that children are in the playground sharp if possible. We will bring the children in just before 9.

Please remember that school uniform has to be worn on the day and if your child suffers from travel sickness please ensure they have had the correct medication before coming to school.

Thanks

Please do no hesitate to ask if you are unsure of anything.

P4 Dynamic Earth trip

We are very excited about our trip to Dynamic Earth next Thursday. Thank you to anyone who has volunteered to help us on the day.  We will send a note home tomorrow to a couple of parents who have offered to check they can still attend.  It is great to have so many volunteers – thanks again!

If you have not already returned your trip  letter please try to do this as soon as possible.

Thanks

Mrs McKay

P4 Google Virtual Reality experience

We had an amazing afternoon yesterday thanks to Google’s Virtual Reality experience.  P4 had lots of fun viewing polar bears in the Arctic, visiting the Antarctic and also having a quick peep at sharks under water and the moon.  The children were very excited and engaged throughout. It was a new experience for most of us but an excellent one that we are very keen to try again.  Through this workshop the children were able to experience what it would be like to be in the polar regions whilst finding out some useful facts.  It has got us very excited for our trip to Dynamic Earth next week.

Here are some photos from the visit.

Syria Charity Collection

Last week we had a great discussion in class after watching a Newsround report about the war in Syria. The children were very interested and asked lots of very good questions.

Some of the children were particularly keen to do more to try to help Syrian refugees.  They made a poster about Syria and were keen to try to make a difference. They asked if we could possibly start a donation box.

We started our donation box on Monday and have just counted what we have already collected. We are absolutely delighted and very proud to say that we have so far collected over £24!

We will continue to collect over the following weeks and will begin to research the best way to donate this money.

Well done P4M! I am very proud of you!
