Hi! We are continuing to enjoy a very busy week. On Tuesday, James from The Asparagus Hut came to talk to us about his job and local Scottish produce. It was very interesting to see all the wonderful varieties of fruit and vegetables he had and James told us lots of cool facts and information. We hope to see him again soon. Here are some pictures from the session.
Hi everyone, we had a lovely start to Eco week this morning. We had two lovely ladies called Sandra and Tina visit from the RSPB. The ladies helped us to recognise the many habitats for wildlife there are within our school grounds. We used maps to identify these areas and also took a closer look at some of the creatures inhabiting our school grounds.
The ladies complimented the boys and girls on how well they listened and participated throughout the workshop. I am also very proud of the way the children worked this morning.

Remember to learn your Scottish poem as well this week. Let me know if you require a copy of your chosen poem.
Hi there, as you know this month is our Scottish Culture month. As part of this each child is asked to select and learn a Scottish/Burns poem which they will then recite to the class.
From this, a child from each class will be selected to represent their class at our Burns assembly.
When learning the poem remind your child to focus on –
Good, clear diction
Pace
A good understanding of the poem
Correct pronunciation of Scottish words
Good facial and vocal expressions conveying the sentiment of the poem
Variation in pace and tone
Here are some links to some poems you may wish to choose. We will discuss each of these in class this week.
We will be looking at a selection of Scottish/Burns poems this week in class. You will then get the opportunity to select one to learn and recite in class. As is tradition each year, a winner will be selected from each class to perform at our Burns assembly at the end of the month.
Please dont hesitate to ask if you are unsure of anything.
