Week beginning 29/08/16
I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed some sunshine. This week we will continue with our Spelling and Reading homework and Maths homework will begin on Wednesday. We are focusing on Data Analysis in class so our homework will be looking at Venn diagrams.
P2 Homework
Spelling sound – ch complete activities as noted in front of homework jotter.
Reading book – please read a little each night so that book is completed over the four nights Monday – Thursday.
Maths homework – Complete Venn diagram.
Although I check homework jotters and diaries each day, I understand if homework has to be completed on different nights according to clubs etc. Just pop a wee note in the diary to let me know. Thank you.
P3 Homework
Spelling sound – oy. Please complete spelling tasks – Monday – copy our words twice again. Tuesday – 3 sentences . Wednesday – find 3 more words with same sound. Thursday – practise words for quiz.
Reading – new book this week. Please spread pages out over 4 nights ensuring book is completed by Friday. Extra reading homework to go with their books will begin next week.
Maths – Venn diagrams given out on Wednesday.
In writing we are looking at diary writing and the pupils have started to write about their news in their writing jotters. We are focusing on good openers such as – At the weekend, On Saturday, Yesterday. This is completed on Thursdays. I would be grateful if over the course of the week parents could chat to their child about what they may write in their diary writing lesson on each Thursday.
This week we will also be starting our new Topic. We will be basing our Topic on the story – The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. We hope to have a visit to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution ) or possibly have visiting specialists come in to class if a trip is not possible. We also hope to host an open afternoon for parents to come in and visit the class to see our work. This will be closer to the end of Term 1. We will keep you posted with any details.
Have a great week
Mrs Fulton
Welcome Back
I hope you all had a lovely summer holiday. I am delighted to be teaching P3/2 this year and all of the children have settled into class well already. This week we will begin homework with spelling and reading. Next week we will introduce Maths homework. Our welcome letter will be in book bags tomorrow and information about homework can be found here. I will also be going over wordwalls with the children this week and next week so look out for these in the bookbags also.
Thank you
Mrs Fulton
