I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break.  Homework starts back this week.

P2 Homework

Spelling this week is looking at the next 10 common words.  Inside the homework jotter the new Mon-Thurs sheet details the tasks for each night.  On Wednesday pupils can choose from a spelling grid of active spelling activities.  (grid  on the back cover of the jotter)  Pupils can tick when they have completed an activity.  One per week.  Homework can be completed on different nights to suit any after school activities.

Reading books out this week – please read  a little each night so that the book is completed by Friday.

Maths on Wednesday will be money related.

 

P3 Homework

This weeks spelling will be looking at wh.  Inside the homework jotter the new Mon-Thurs sheet details the tasks for each night.  As above the homework can be completed differently to suit any after school activities that may make a particular night busy.

Reading books out this week.  Please read a little each night so that the book is completed by Friday.

Maths on Wednesday will be money related.

 

This month we are celebrating Scotland and will be doing a mini topic on Scotland.  This week the pupils will bring home a selection of Scottish poems.  Pupils should choose 1 short poem to learn to recite in front of the class.  Those that wish to be put forward for the school poetry competition can recite their poems to other classes where voting will be taking place.  More details to accompany the poems when they are sent home.

 

This term we will continue our ERIC time on a Tuesday.  This is when everyone reads quietly in class.  Pupils can bring in their own books or use school books.  On Friday we will continue our Read and munch where pupils can bring in a book of their choice and a healthy snack to eat while reading.
