P6P have finished their felt phone cases at long last! It has been a long process but I’m sure you’ll agree it has been worth the effort.
The design and creating process was as follows:
- evaluating existing products
- identify areas for improvement
- create individual design criteria
- take accurate measurements of their phone
- create annotated designs
- create a paper template
- use the paper template to cut felt
- use running and/or back stitch to decorate the felt
- use pom-poms/felt shapes/pen/sequins/beads/buttons to decorate the felt
- make a closing latch with fixings (like Velcro) to close the case
- use the overlocker to sew the sides of the case together
After completing any last minute touches today, the class evaluated their finished product. They thought about WWW (What Went Well) and EBI (Even Better If).
Some of the project has been quite tricky, however, I have been very impressed with how hard you have worked and the effort put in.
Here are some photos of P6P modelling their funky felt phone cases.
