Welcome back everyone. I hope you’ve had a lovely holiday.
Here goes term 2 – lots of exciting things happening.
Homework –
no new sounds this week
2 books (swap on Wednesday)
Wordwall – please practise the highlighted words every night. If your child can say the word fluently it gets a tick, if they need help or need to sound it out they get a dot. Once a word has 3 ticks there is no need to practise that one any more. Please ask the words in a different order every time to stop children from just memorising them.
Maths challenges – although this activity is in the homework diary for a Monday, please feel free to do it on any night that suits you that week.
Next Monday is Hallowe’en so we will have a dressing up party in the afternoon. Please come to school in your uniform and bring your costume in a bag. We will get changed after lunch. If your child prefers not to wear a costume they can just wear play clothes.
On Tuesday 1st November our class will visit Scotland Street school for our new topic of toys. We will leave about 12 o’clock and be back for hometime. We are looking for helpers who are able to come to school at about 11.45. Please let us know as soon as possible if your child would like a school packed lunch as these have to be ordered in advance.
To begin our toys topic, we would like you to bring your favourite toy to school on Thursday. Be ready to talk about it – where did you get it ? why is it your favourite?
Thanks
