I hope you had a nice weekend.

Last week we started our new Topic, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch.  We read the story as a class.   We then each got an opportunity to say what we know about the subject of the book and what we would like to learn.  We came up with lots of interesting questions.  For example – Why is a Lighthouse stripey?  What happens during the day in a Lighthouse?  What creatures live under the water near the shore?  and many more…  We will try and answer these questions as we progress through the topic.    This week we will be creating our classroom display of the story and characters within the story.

Speling new sound – th.  Please see the daily tasks at the front of the spelling jotter.  New reading book.  Please read a little each night.  Maths homework this week will be addition number stories of 11.

Spelling new sound – or.  Monday – write out words twice.  Tuesday – write out 3 sentences.  Wednesday – find 3 new words with this sound.  Thursday – practise for quiz.  New reading book this week and comprehension to be completed by Friday.  Maths this week will be revising tally marks.
