Bridges

Children developed their skills for cooperative learning through designing and making their own bridges. They had learned about the materials and parts of five types of bridges: arched, beam, trestle, suspension and clapper bridges. The criteria were that (1)they had to design the bridge, (2) make a diagram and (3)that it had  to support a given weight. The final criteria was to have fun.

We are now looking forward to our trip to the new bridge over the Forth, the Queensferry Crossing.
