Our Wedding!

As part of our RME project, the children have been learning what churches are used for.

On the day before the Royal Wedding, we had our own little wedding in class and reception/party for the Big Day!

Cutting The Cake
Toasting the Bride and Groom!

Our Pirate topic

Here are some photographs showing some of the activities and learning we have done in relation to our Pirate topic.

This has included making our Pirate ship, reading pirate stories, Drama – Life on a Pirate Ship and Island and Soft Play activities including role play in the ship.

Making dens in the Forest

P1/2 this term have been making different dens.

It started off with little ones for our fairies whose homes were blown away by Sneezy the Dragon.

We then made dens in which at least one person could fit in to.

Finally we learned how to made square knots, which we used to help us make a freestanding den with a tripod. In all of these tasks we were learning the skill of working with others.

Transport Museum Visit

P1/2 are just back from their fabulous time at the Transport Museum in Glasgow.

We started off with a tour with the Tram Man who guided us around the different trams showing us how they worked and how people had to board them and sit on them too. He also showed us their safety features with the help of Rhys who ended up being below one of them!

We then had a walk around the many exhibits before lunch.

After lunch we continued our tour, which included going on board the steam locomotives, in and out of the old style shops and aboard the Glen lee ship, where some of  the children were put to work scrubbing the decks!

After our visit to the shop we had to go back home. A big thank you to Hazel and Mr Davidson who were our parent/grandparent helpers!
