Alexander showed us a fascinating book all about birds.
Aiva also showed us medals of her Great Grandpa. We looked at them using our Easiview.

We have been learning about electric circuits. We started of with a basic circuit lighting one light with wires and a battery. We then used switches, more than one light, fans and buzzers.
At the end we tried to have our Christmas lights turn on. The pictures don’t do it justice! (You had to be there!)
Today we learned about St. Andrew for Scotland’s special day.
We went over to the hall and danced some Scottish dances. After that we had a Scottish food taster session. We learnt about the health benefits of some and how some foods should be only eaten in moderation. Today we tasted a variety of porridge, oatcakes and Scottish cheddar, shortbread and tablet. Haggis was going to be served, but it was already an option for lunch.
It was good to see a lot of the children tucking into porridge.
This Friday we rotated around the tables in the classroom, doing different maths games. We played time, adding and subtraction games and also dominoes. Hopefully we will take a half an hour each Friday and do this!
What a brilliant time we had when the fire brigade visited us.
They showed us all their water equipment, cutting tools and we all got the chance to use the water hose. We had to aim at a cone on top of the bin. I think there are some budding firefighters amongst us!
Today we nearly finished our 3D lighthouse models. Just another coat of paint and we will be done.
Looking good though! Big thank you to Miss Dingwall who started the process off.
We have been very busy making our Christmas cards to help raise funds for the school.
Today P2/3 travelled to Deep Sea World in Edinburgh. We had a fabulous time! We learnt lots of things.
First of all we went to a class on how to be a diver and pretended to put our suits on. We learnt about different animals in rock pools, in shallow waters and the deep sea.
Next we went out and explored rock pools and were able to touch some anemones and starfish.
We saw piranha, crabs, seahorses and lots of other types of fish. Then we went to the Jaws section and went on the moving walkway and saw different types of sharks and rays.
After lunch we went to the amphibian section and saw lots of frogs and lizards. We then went outside to see the seals.
Finally we visited the gift shop and bought a souvenir of our visit.
A big thank you to Mrs Kelly who accompanied us on our trip!
In Literacy we were learning to read for information and P3 have been learning to answer questions with sentences.
We learnt about flow diagrams and the Lifecycle of a Butterfly. P2 answered with one or two words, but P3 practised answering with full sentences and very well they did too!
Link through to this fun activity on the Lifecycle of a Butterfly.
