Mrs Champion and P1/2/3 would like to say a big thank you to all the parent helpers who came with us on our recent trips to Tesco’s, Edinburgh Zoo and the Commonwealth Day.
This included Mrs McLaren, Mrs Thomas, Mr Dawson, Mrs Speed and Ms Taylor.
We had a fabulous time at Tescos today!First we looked at all types of fruit and vegetables and the countries they come from. We spotted a few from Commonwealth countries. We headed then to the bakery to see how rolls are made and what ingredients were needed. We had a tasting session for cheese and voted for our favourite type.Next we went to the fish counter and spotted different fish. Then we had a chance to go in the walk in freezer. It was very cold at -024 degrees centigrade. Needless to say we didn’t hang around there!Next we saw where the deliveries came in.Finally we had a tasting session of fruit and veg!We learnt alot and had a great time also! Thank you Tesco!Thank you also to MaLaren who came along with us too!
Check out the photos below of the children, seeing if they had washed their hands thoroughly enough. There were a few trips back and forwards to the bathroom for some!
P1/2/3, along with the rest of the school, were able to take part in a bike/scooter obstacle course in the tennis courts. We had great fun improving our bicycle handling skills.
A big thank you to Mrs Glendinning who helped to arrange this for us!
We have been learning about the Hindu festival of Holi.
During this festival, people throw paint over each other. The children wanted to do this too, but we agreed to splatter paint on big pieces of paper in the playground.
Sorry there are no photos, but while doing this, the wind started to blow wildly -much to the children’s amusement! Chaos entailed!
