Victorian Songs and Games
The children have been learning some of the outdoor games Victorian children would have played.
This has included In and Out the Dusty Bluebells, Oranges and Lemons and Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be?
Making a Thaumatrope
This term the children will be making different toys.
This week they made a thaumatrope which is an optical illusion. The illusion makes you think the picture of the bird is in the cage.
Exploring Victorian Toys
We are very lucky to have toys from Perth Museum for three weeks.
The children have had different times to explore, examine and learn the names of these artefacts. These have included zootropes, diabolos, spinning tops, tumbling clowns and whizzers.
Learning to March!
In Drama the children have been listening to the story of the Brave Tin Soldier. To help them learn how to march properly, Ben came in to show and teach them.
We had some very good marchers among us!

Handwashing
In Health, the children have learning the proper way to wash their hands with Mrs Ross!
Through experiments they found out they needed warm, soapy water to wash their hands properly.
Up in the Forest!
P1/2 had their first session in the forest. They were learning all about safety in the forest and learning how to use a kellie kettle safely.
After this Primary 1 did counting with numbers to 10 and some sequencing activities. P2 raced each other in pairs while learning before, after and between numbers to 100. P2 were also ordering numbers too.
