P1 and P2/3 recently had a visit from the Fire Service and learned about the dangers of making hoax calls to the fire service.
Lynne followed up this visit and allowed the children to make supervised 999 calls.
Alexander and Rebecca did a wonderful job making a 999 call. Rebecca was especially clear when making her call!
P2/3 have been researching in pairs all about Queen Victoria using this website Queen Victoria.
They then have been using their notes to write and type an account of her life.
P2 have been counting in 2’s, 5′ s and 10’s and P3 have started to learn their times tables. Here is a website to practice great games.
P2/3 have been doing decoupage to decorate their scrapbook for homework. This was a popular activity in Victorian times. It involved cutting out pictures of your favourite things and overlapping them. A coating of glue was then brushed over to give a shine. Flowers were very popular in Victorian times, but we also stuck on our favourite toys.
Well done to everyone who learned their poem for our poetry competition. It was a very difficult decision to choose two winners from each class, as the competition was very strong. The four winners, however from our class were-

Today the children came up with lots of questions for our new topic of Victorian Pastimes and Toys. This should be a great topic and lots of fun. Details of their homework related to this topic will come soon.
Today Fred showed us a picture of him meeting Andy Murray in Bridge of Allan over the Christmas holidays. Andy Murray even signed his tennis racquet! Fred also brought in his tiger soft toy, which he got after adopting a tiger called Kamerita.
We started Fitness today in PE. We went around different stations to do different activities to raise our heart rate. We certainly did that! Everyone put in great effort today. Well done to Rebecca and Katie who listened especially well and carried out the activities very well.
