Aberdeen win the Scottish Cup after 35 years

Aberdeen has won the Scottish cup after 35 years. They beat Celtic in the finals 2-1 after penalties, which stopped Celtic from getting the treble for the second year in a row.

Celtic managed to get the first goal just before half time by a brilliant header from Carter – Vickers which bounced off an Aberdeen player and went in the Aberdeen net.

Later in that game Aberdeen subbed on a crucial player, Shayden Morris. Aberdeen got the ball and passed it up to Shayden Morris on the 84th minute who crossed it into the box and went into the keeper’s hand, but the keeper slipped it out of his hand, and it was in the net.

The Aberdeen fans were so happy because they haven’t won a trophy since 1990.

It then went into extra time and then penalties. Callum McGregor (Celtic’s captain) unfortunately missed the first penalty for Celtic, which helped Aberdeen a lot.

Aberdeen’s keeper Dimitar Mitov managed to save 2 penalties and one of them was the winning penalty which made Aberdeen win the cup.
