The context of the setting:
Evie Community School is in a rural location on the Orkney Mainland in the centre of an agricultural community which is also rich in renewable energy sources and boasts a heritage site nearby on the Aikerness shore. We benefit from the use of the superb Evie Park alongside the school grounds and link with groups using the community facility in the school building. Approximately 50 pupils make up the primary and nursery context with 2 multi-composite classes in the primary and 12 children in the nursery. The Head Teacher is linked with Firth Primary School and this creates many opportunities for shared experiences. Evie school children generally go to Stromness Academy once they have moved on to secondary and we work closely with them to provide a seamless transition. We have a great school community which we value and appreciate and are keen to develop this even further through community projects.
