The Pathways Programme is a whole council approach, led by Education and Families, that will help you prepare for the world of work. We know that no two pathways will be the same and the programme will support you to find the best route into employment for you.
The Pathways Programme is delivered away from your school in community facilities and at New College Lanarkshire (with campuses in Cumbernauld, Coatbridge and Motherwell). You will take part in work based learning and site visits across North Lanarkshire with local employers, council services and training providers. These activities will help build your confidence, help you understand the world of work, make you more employable and help you find the right path towards your future career Your timetable will include:
• Work placements and work-based learning
• Employability and enterprise activities
• Training and workshops for a range of sectors
• Personal development and life skills
• Support from Routes to Work, Skills Development Scotland
If you are thinking about leaving school and need support to take that next step into the world of work then Pathways might be a good option for you. To find out more about the programme and if it is the right option for you please speak to your pupil support teacher.
