As a school, we are continually trying to support parents in managing the treatment of head lice. Below is a link to the most up to date information from NHS. As always, we would encourage all parents to check their child’s hair regularly and should you have any queries then please contact the school.

Well done to this week’s awesome Star Pupils.

Some fantastic accuracy from this week’s Sumdog Champions. Keep up the good work!

We have a Cool Class Cup Award for excellent behaviour, manners and work completed in class.
We shared more success at assembly this week. Two pupils shared their football stories and showed off the medals they won. Well done.

As part of the health and wellbeing curriculum, we are delighted to announce that we have author, Chris Duke, visiting our school to talk about his book, “Lucy’s Blue Day”.
The book is written to help children understand their emotions, and to encourage mental health awareness. It has received positive comments from the likes of Stephen Fry, Dr Ranj and Lorraine Kelly describing the book as “charming, and well needed in today’s society.”
It is accessible for all ages from pre-school through Primary. There is also a Diary version, which is more suited towards the upper years – early teens.
Chris will be talking about the book in school to all of our classes, and doing a book signing on the day.
You can pre-order your copy online at www.lucysblueday.com and receive a 20% discount using the code WOODLANDS – available until 16th January, 2020. Please enter your child’s name at the checkout to ensure it gets to the right person. Select “author visit” at the delivery option, and Chris will bring them on the day – these orders are not posted! If you are ordering something other than the books, please add the school, as well as the child’s name to the notes.
Please note, the discount is available only online, but there will be books for sale on the day at £7.99 for the children’s book, and £9.99 for the Diary if your child would like to bring money in on the day, please ensure it is in an envelope clearly marked.
