End Of Term Arrangements

School will finish for the Christmas holidays on Wednesday 22nd December.

Children that start at 9:00 will finish at 2:30 and children that start at 9:10 will finish at 2:40.

On this day, all nursery children will finish at their normal time. We do appreciate that parents/careers may wish to collect nursery children early on this day to correspond with the finishing times of siblings in the school and this can be accommodated if needed.

Christmas Gifts

Often at Christmas children bring in gifts for their teacher and other members of staff. While we appreciate the kindness shown to us over the years, we would like to reiterate and request that gifts are no longer given at Woodlands Primary School. This is a decision taken by the whole staff team and is in recognition of the challenges that we all face both in keeping our families safe and financially at this challenging time.

Thank you.

Christmas Party Week

The Woodlands Christmas Parties are fast approaching!

All parties will take place on the week beginning Monday 13th – Friday 17th December – this will be a Christmas Fun Day for each class.

This year classes will not be mixing indoors. Party Days are:

Monday 13th – P6, P6/7 and P7.

Tuesday 14th  – P4/5 and P5.

Wednesday 15th – P4 and P3/4.

Thursday 16th – P2 and P2/3.

Friday 17th – P1 and P1a

Children can come to school on that day dressed in their party clothes.

Children do not need to bring anything as party snacks will be provided by the school.

Christmas Jumper Swap Shop

From Monday we would like to encourage families to bring into school Christmas jumpers that your children have grown out of. We will organise and sort out the clothes during the week and have them redistributed to people who could use them during the festive period.

It is estimated that 1 in 4 Christmas jumpers are thrown away each year, or never worn more than once. So this year, instead of throwing that jumper away, why not give it a new lease of life with someone else? Christmas jumpers are often made from man-made, plastic based fibres such as polyester so they will never really breakdown in landfill – so we would be doing our part to help the environment too.
