Due to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Woodlands Primary School and Nursery will be closed on Thursday 2^nd and Friday 3^rd of June.

Week 3

We will be celebrating the Queens Platinum Jubilee on Monday 30^th of May (tomorrow). We would like to invite you to come along and enjoy a performance by your child’s class while indulging in tea and cakes. Parents are welcome to come for any performance which includes their child/children however we would kindly ask that you only attend your own child’s time slots to ensure there is enough space for everyone. Although COVID restrictions have eased we want to make this as safe as we possibly can therefore all parents must leave the hall in between performances to allow the room to be cleaned. We look forward to welcoming you back and hope that this is the first of many events to come. On Monday 30th (tomorrow) the school will also be selling raffle tickets to parents/carers before and after each class performance. Tickets are £1 per strip.

Timetable for performance is:

9.15 – 9.35                  Nursery welcome you to the 50’s

9.45 – 10.05                Primary 1 welcome you to the 60’s

10.15 – 10.35              Primary 2 welcome you to the 70’s

11.00 – 11.20              Primary 3 welcome you to the 80’s

11.30 – 11.50              Primary 4 welcome you to the 90’s

1.10 – 1.30                  Primary 5 welcome you to the 00’s

1.40 – 2.00                  Primary 6 welcome you to the 10’s

2.20 – 2.40                  Primary 7 welcome you to the 20’s

There will be a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Special Menu on Thursday 26th May

White – Sandringham Soup (Vegetable)

Red – Buckingham Burger (Beef)

Green – Buckingham burger (Veggie)

Yellow Windsor Wrap (Chicken goujons, lettuce and mayo)

All meals will be served with potato waffles and spiced onions.

We have lots of Top Dogs this week – keep working hard!

Well done to two of our pupils who finished 1st and 7th in the NLC Sumdog Challenge.

Woodlands Primary School and nursery will be closed to all pupils on Friday 27th May.

Our whole school sports day, including children in the nursery will take place on Thursday 26^th of May.

In the morning the children will take part in a range of indoor activities. In the afternoon they will enjoy some potted sports outdoors in their own designated playgrounds.

Parents are welcome to come along at 1:30 in the afternoon to cheer them on.  Please ensure that children come dressed appropriately in school polo shirt/sweatshirt and joggers or leggings. They should also have a water bottle and waterproof jacket as they will be outdoors in all weathers.
