Often at Christmas children bring in gifts for their teacher and other members of staff. While we appreciate the kindness shown to us over the years, we would like to reiterate and request that gifts are no longer given at Woodlands Primary School. This is a decision taken by the whole staff team and is in recognition of the challenges that we all face during the current financial climate.

It is intended that all education establishments, except for NLC’s 23 individual family learning centres and 52-week nurseries based in school settings, will be closed to children and pupils on Thursday 24th November due to industrial action by teaching unions.

Tomorrow’s Cross County Event will go ahead as planned. There is a slight change as the event start time is now 11 am. It is forecast to rain in the morning and the organisers have asked that children bring adequate clothing and footwear for the conditions. They recommend that it might be an idea for children to bring a change of clothes / shoes for returning to school.

A reminder that Monday 14th November is an In-Service Day and Woodlands Primary School and Nursery will be closed. Children should not attend school or nursery on this day.

This year we are combining Children In Need with a celebration house day. On the 18^th November our pupils will take part in school house-based activities and learn about the role of Children in Need.

or come in dressed in the colours of their house (We will give children 10 house points for each item of clothing they have on that is the colour of their house).
