Today is Sports Day!
Parents are welcome to come along. As the sporting events are taking place on the pitch and MUGA there will be a designated area set aside for parents to watch and cheer. This is to allow children space to flow between each planned event we are asking all parents to please follow the signs and stay behind the white rope/cone area.
Please ensure that children come dressed appropriately in school polo shirt/sweatshirt and joggers or leggings. They should also have a water bottle and waterproof jacket as they will be outdoors in all weathers.
As said previously children have been split into several house teams. At the end of the events the top teams from each house will take part in a relay race to finish our sports day. When the relay is completed children will return to their class and they can then be collected as usual from their own classroom.
Today our Parent Council will be running a tuckshop from the ICT room (see previous poster for prices). The parent council will also be selling school disco tickets too.

For most of this year the main gates of Woodlands Primary School have been left unlocked to allow children opportunities to play with school resources. Unfortunately, the main gates of Woodlands Primary School will now have to be locked at the end of each day. This is due to several incidents of dog dirt in each of our playgrounds where our pupils play and the damage caused to several nursery resources within the school.

Over the last few weeks we have noticed an increase in inappropriate social media activity from children in Woodlands Primary School. In many instances this been brought into school and resulted in disagreements in the playground. We would like to encourage all parents/carers to take time to check apps that children regularly use and devices that children access.
