This Friday (25^th October) Woodlands Primary school is having a Stay and Play session for all our Primary 1s from 2pm – 3pm. The ‘Stay and Play’ session will take place in the Learning Zone and in the  classrooms. These sessions give you a chance to see what your child is learning and to get involved, as well as to meet other parents/families. Parents and carers are welcome to attend. Parents and carers attending must enter through the front door and sign in via the QR code sign in sheet. At the end of the session parents and carers can leave through the front door and collect their child as normal at their class door.

This Friday (25^th October) Woodlands Primary school is having a STEM and Play session for all Primary 4s from 1pm – 2pm. The ‘STEM and Play’ session will take place in the STEM Zone and in the  classrooms. These sessions give you a chance to see what your child is learning and to get involved, as well as to meet other parents/families. Parents and carers are welcome to attend. Parents and carers attending must enter through the front door and sign in via the QR code sign in sheet.

The school photographer (Tempest Photography) will be visiting the school on Wednesday 6th November to take individual and family photographs. Although this is a gym day for some children. We ask that children attend in their full school uniform to have their photos taken. Thank you.

At Friday’s assembly Mr Green spoke about online safety and being responsible. Over the next few months as it gets colder and darker as a school, we always notice an increase in inappropriate social media activity from children in Woodlands Primary School. In many instances this has been brought into school and results in disagreements in the playground.

More recently this appears in the form of:

– inappropriate messages between children.

– sharing private personal messages/screenshots with others.

– discussing and typing unkind things about children then adding them to the group chats.

We would like to encourage all parents/carers to take time to check apps that children regularly use and devices that children access to ensure that they are being used appropriately.

A quick reminder that Flu immunisations (nasal spray) will take place in school on Friday, 11th October. Could all forms be returned before Friday even if it is a no consent. Only children that have fully completed forms will be vaccinated that day. If your child misses this immunisation the catch up immunisation date is 27/01/25

Thank you to all who attended our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. I think you’ll agree that the children were fabulous. With your amazing support we managed to raise a fantastic £528.

Please remember that Woodlands Primary School and Nursery is closed to pupils on Friday 27^th and Monday 30th for the September Weekend.

Both the School and nursery will reopen on Tuesday 1^st  October.
