The Big Pedal 18th – 29th April

Just a reminder that all children are encouraged to take part in the Big Pedal for the next fortnight. As part of the initiative children (& their parents/carers) can cycle or scooter to school. Their teacher will record the number of children taking part each day – even if you can only manage one day a week, give it a go!

Plan Bee at assembly on Friday 22nd April

We are very excited to have a special guest presenting at our assembly this Friday. We are looking forward to welcoming Warren Bader CEO  of Plan Bee to our assembly & finding out all about his job & the important role of honey bees.

As Primary 5 have been learning about bees, they will have the opportunity to adopt & name a bee! We are hoping that they will receive their adoption certificates at the assembly on Friday. Perhaps they will also be able to showcase their ‘Bee Movie’ to Warren!

Head Lice

As a school, we are continually trying to support parents in managing the treatment of head lice. Below is a link to the most up to date information from NHS. As always, we would encourage all parents to check their child’s hair regularly and should you have any queries then please contact the school.

Goodbye from Mr McCrorie

To all of the parents and pupils,

A huge thank you to you all for my wonderful send off today. I will miss you all and it has been my honour and privilege to have had the opportunity to work with you and help you on life’s journey over the past 11 years. I leave with the values that Woodlands is built upon ingrained in my approach to life within a school and therefore will take a part of Woodlands with me wherever I go.

After the Spring holiday I will begin an exciting new chapter in my career as Depute Head Teacher in Heriot Primary in Paisley and do so with many wonderful memories from the 11 years that I have been privileged to work in Woodlands.  Don’t underestimate the role you all play in helping to make Woodlands Primary, in my opinion the best school in North Lanarkshire.

I wish you all good health, happiness and success in the future and I look forward to seeing you all at the school show in June.

Best wishes

Craig McCrorie
