Christmas Jumper Day 13.12.17

Children are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers tomorrow to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day!

This  year we are asking that children bring a donation to give to the local foodbank (tins or dried food) instead of their £1 donation. Hopefully we can spread a little extra Christmas cheer by helping local families 🙂

Transportation Consultation

Dear Parent/Carer

“Consultation on proposals to increase the qualification for entitlement to free mainstream school transport”.

As part of the ongoing Transport Consultation exercise, Education, Youth & Communities are carrying out engagement activities with those children and young people who currently receive free school transport.

Your son or daughter has the opportunity to complete a brief online survey on the proposals. Depending on their age, it will be the case that some may require your help or their teachers’ help to do this.

The survey can be found at the following address: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/S27BK6C

Can I ask for your help in ensuring your son/daughter does so by Friday 15 December 2017?

In addition, some face-to-face focus groups, supported by staff to gather the views of the pupils, will take place over the next 2 weeks.

In addition, members of the Scottish Youth Parliament and the North Lanarkshire Youth Council are being consulted and carrying out their own consultation exercise with many young people.

The views expressed through the survey and focus groups will be used to inform the final report that will eventually go to the Education Committee.   This will help the elected members to make an informed decision on whether to accept the proposal(s) or not.

Please accept my thanks for your co-operation in this process.

Yours sincerely

David Craig

Christmas Fayre Update

We would like to thank everyone for their support on Saturday! We had a brilliant, busy morning!

We are delighted to report that the Fayre raised a whopping £2720.51!!

As always the money will be put to good use purchasing resources for the school & subsidising the price of the school trip.
