From Monday we would like to encourage families to bring into school Christmas jumpers that your children have grown out of. We will organise and sort out the clothes during the week and have them redistributed to people who could use them during the festive period.
It is estimated that 1 in 4 Christmas jumpers are thrown away each year, or never worn more than once. So this year, instead of throwing that jumper away, why not give it a new lease of life with someone else? Christmas jumpers are often made from man-made, plastic based fibres such as polyester so they will never really breakdown in landfill – so we would be doing our part to help the environment too.
