Adding

This week in maths we have been learning how to add two numbers together. We used some cubes and our adding mats to help us. We know that to find the answer we need to count all of our cubes carefully.

Friday already! Although it has been a short week we have managed to learn a lot.

Another Week Over

Well done to Hannah who was our dojo champion this week. She worked very hard to earn the most points.

Leah was our Effective Contributor this week for sharing her knowledge and ideas with the class. Well done!

“I enjoyed reading my new book called Playing Skittles” – Carmen.

“I learned about the ‘ch’ sound this week and I know that the word chips has that sound in it” – Millie.

“I liked trying to move in different ways around the gym hall on Monday” – Alfie.

“I really enjoyed making a dragon for Chinese New Year” – Olivia.

“I enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year during assembly” – Logan.

“I know that the word cherries has our new sound in it” – Cameron.

Writing Instructions

We have been learning how to write instructions. We know that instructions should have a title, a list of things we will need and it is really important to put the steps in the right order.

Look at us working hard writing instructions for how to make salt dough.

 

Weekly Winners

A big well done to Louie who was our class dojo champion on Friday. He worked very hard to earn lots of points.

Alfie was our Responsible Citizen this week for sharing his experiences of school with the nursery children when they came to visit. Well done Alfie!

What a Week!

We have been working very hard this week and have learned lots of new things.

“From my school council group, I now know that children over 135cm tall do not need to sit on a car seat” – Marcus.

“I learned the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in French” – Hannah.

“I enjoyed matching numbers to their names” – Keilidh.

“I really enjoyed stepping and clapping when I was learning the Virginia Reel” – Kayla.

“I learned how to count up to 20” – Malaika.

“I learned how to write instructions to tell other children how to play What’s the Time Mr Wolf?” – Carmen.

“I learned that the Loch Ness monster is a symbol of Scotland” – Logan.

 

Well done Logan for earning the most dojo points and being our class dojo champion this week.

Samantha was our confident individual for reading aloud with confidence and great expression. Well done Samantha!

Brandon won a ticket to the Head Teacher’s tea party for doing super writing.

A great first week in 2016!

We have all had a brilliant Christmas break and came back to school this week ready to learn lots of new things. Our reading and writing is just fabulous. We have been working hard to learn lots of new words to read and write.

“I learned that Bonjour means hello in French” – Aaron.
