Primary 7a and Primary 7b visited the War Memorial in Uddingston Main Street. The walked down last Tuesday morning to visit the site as part of their World War 2 topic. They read the inscription on the memorial and discussed the meaning and thought behind this. They also held a minutes silence for those who gave of their lives for our country in this and the last century.
The children have successful used their local environment to extend their learning.
Primary 7 have been creating Anderson Shelters as part of their World War 2 topic. They were set the task of creating a model which showed what a shelter was like inside and out using a limited number of resources. They certainly rose to the challenge:
Primary 7 have been investigating who fought on which side of the war during WWII. The Allies were the countries who fought on the side of Great Britain and the Axis were the countries who fought on the side of Nazi Germany.
We used collage to make striking flags to add to our display.
