Today was our annual Easter Bonnet Parade. All of the children were asked to create an Easter bonnet, crown or hat at home to wear to our service. Each class selected a winner who was awarded with the prize of a chocolate Easter egg.
All of the pupils who entered put in a lot of effort – every idea was different and unique and so much time and thought had gone into making each one special. Well done and thank you for making it so much fun!
Many of our children have already achieved their Silver Award in the Going for Gold scheme. To celebrate this excellent achievement, all of the children who have earned their award were invited to a Zumba Party. Mrs Paterson led the children through an energetic but fun routine. Well done everyone for achieving this!
The P7’s have been working hard this week, working as a team, to create a bridge using art straws. They firstly investigated photos of bridges on the internet. Then designed their own on paper. As a team they selected the best ideas. Then they then worked as a team to create the bridge. They are all very proud of it!
Thursday March 1st was World Book Day. Every pupil received a £1 gift voucher which they can use towards a book in most high-street book shops.
To celebrate this day, everyone was invited to dress up as their favourite book character. A winner for best costume was chosen from each stage – they received a book and bookmark as a prize. The staff also held a competition – Mr. Clark won for his Mr. Bump costume!

World Book Day is on Thursday 1st March 2012.
To celebrate, we are having a “Dress as a Book character” competition. Pupils and staff can dress as a character from their favourite book to enter.

On thursday the 16th february all the primary sevens went to ravenscraig sports center. The p7s went for a sports day along with other p7 schools the events we took part in were badminton , golf , athletics , tennis , health and fitness and football . Most people enjoyed the badminton while the boys enjoyed football . We were lucky to get the football as other schools did not get the football . Everyone enjoyed it and says it was a fun day. Allthough the next day some people came to school with aches and pains.
With the help of some parents we are trying to re-organise our library and locate the books we have on our system.
If you have any old School Library Books lying around your house could you please return them to the school-no questions asked!
There will be a box in the library for all books to put into at a time convenient to the class. Thank you for your assistance with this.
Thank you to everyone who recently donated old clothes and items back in November. We managed to raise £130 for school funds.
Just a reminder for the children in Primary 7 who have signed up for the Football After-school club with Mrs. Fullerton and Mr. Crombie – it starts on Monday 9th January 2012, 3pm-4pm.
Remember to bring your gym kit and normal trainers.
