Last week, Mrs Grant and Mrs McCarthy sent a recording of the Primary 6 classes singing Jingle Bells to Real Radio for their school choir feature. Their song was picked to be played on the radio! Merry Christmas!
School closes at 2.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday 21st December) for the Christmas holidays. On the last day of term, we are having a dress-down day. Children can come to school wearing their casual clothes for just £1 which will go towards school funds. Why not jazz up your outfit with a wee bit of Christmas sparkle?
School will reopen for everyone on Monday 9th January 2012. Have a lovely Christmas holiday from all at Tannochside.
Tannochside Primary was full of Christmas cheer tonight as we opened our doors for “Carols by Candlelight”. Soloists, groups and the choir entertained their audience with a wide range of songs, from traditional carols and calypso music to popular Christmas songs and hyms. They were accompanied superbly by Mrs Lyall on the piano and the Viewpark church band. Mrs McGregor, our Kodaly teacher, generoulsy gave of her time to conduct the choir.

As the Primary 6 children have learned the French version of Jingle Bells and they performed it so well, Mrs McCarthy had a superb idea. She thought that we should send the recording to the Real Radio show in the hope that they will pick our song to play on the radio. So listen to the Breakfast show with Ewen and Cat in the morning and hopefully Tannochside Primary School will feature in their school choir section!
We are so lucky to have a very well run Breakfasy club. Mrs. McGhee, a parent helper, organises lots of games and activities for the children to take part in.
Today the children were making masks:
Primary 6 had a great time at our Christmas party. We danced the Gay Gordons, Millitary Two Step, St Bernard’s Waltz and The Canadian Barn Dance. We also played some party games like Pass the Parcel, Corners and Musical Arms. Then we had some refreshments and finished off with Best Dancer competition. It was fantastic! The Pupil Council would like to thank all children, parents and friends who very kindly donated a gift to our Christmas Appeal this year. Mr Lyle collected all the gifts on Monday afternoon and was delighted with the number of gifts that we had received.
You have helped brighten up someone’s Christmas time this year. Once again, a big thank you to everyone who donated!

Nursery Nativity
The Nursery Christmas performances have been resheduled to Friday the 16th December 2011.
The morning session performance will be at 10.30am and the afternoon session performance at 2.00pm. The pro-formas that you have already sent in will confirm your attendance, however, if you are unable to make this date, please inform the school.
