Primary 6 Learning Blog

In class we were exploring the advantages and disadvantages of Disneyland Paris.  We used the laptops to research some information, and we found more  disadvantages than advantages for Disneyland Paris.  Here are some of the disadvantages and advantages that we found.

DISADVANTAGES

Disney land Paris was built on farm land and the repairs and maintenance was paid by local peoples taxes.

ADVANTAGES

It brought millions of tourists to Paris and it brings lots of jobs plus the money is good for the economy.

We found it very interesting and we found  out a bit more about Disneyland Paris and made us think differently than we thought before.  At the end we had to write a persuasive report choosing whether we would be against or for Disney land.

We were surprised about the amount of people that went against Disneyland, only a few people were for it.

Credit Union

A new Credit Union has opened in the school in partnership with Thorniewood Credit Union.  Collections will be taken every Tuesday at lunchtime in NQ2.  Children must bring their passbooks and pay in slip when they want to deposit money.  For any further information please contact Mrs Grant.  If you would like to join the Credit Union and you live in the local area, please contact Mrs Grant for an application form.

Primary 6 Singing

As the Primary 6 children have learned the French version of Jingle Bells and they performed it so well, Mrs McCarthy had a superb idea.  She thought that we should send the recording to the Real Radio show in the hope that they will pick our song to play on the radio.  So listen to the Breakfast show with Ewen and Cat in the morning and hopefully Tannochside Primary School will feature in their school choir section!

Primary 6 Christmas party

Primary 6 had a great time at our Christmas party.  We danced the Gay Gordons, Millitary Two Step, St Bernard’s Waltz and The Canadian Barn Dance.  We also played some party games like Pass the Parcel, Corners and Musical Arms.  Then we had some refreshments and finished off with Best Dancer competition.  It was fantastic!  Please take a look at our photographs.

Wedding Day

Bay 17 and Bay 19 have been learning about weddings in Christianity. We decided that it would be great fun if we had a mock wedding of our own. So on Monday we visited Burnhead Parish Church and our bride and groom were ‘married’ by Mr Brunger. Then on Wednesday we visited Viewpark Parish Church and our bride and groom were ‘married’ by Mr Lyle. Afterwards we went back to school to have our reception. We performed the first dance, the bride threw her bouquet and we cut the cake and everyone had a great time.
