Remembrance Poems

We have been learning all about Remembrance in class as part of our World War II topic.  We wrote a poem inspired by In Flander’s Field.  Here is my poem:

In Flander’s Fields where poppies grow,
Soldiers who fought for long ago,
We are loved and were loved.

In Flanders fields

We lived long ago to see sunset glow
Now we are between the crosses
Buried deep below
They never thought they would see me go.

In Flanders fields

We symbolise those who died long ago,
We also saw moonlight glow

In Flanders fields .

  1. Brilliant work Louise. I especially like the line “They never thought they would see me go”, this really conveys a sad but strong message. Well done!
