Germany has been a very enjoyable topic for our Social Studies investigation. And, as a special treat, we decided to sample our learning by tasting it! Yes that’s right – we used the annual Oktoberfest as our inspiration and planned our very own December fest. This involved preparing and making our own Bavarian Hats, Gingerbread Hearts and Gingerbread Houses. Typically, the first question asked was “Will we taste beer?” the pupil in question will of course remain anonymous ! However, great fun was indeed had by all, no beer but lashings of Ginger Beer – my little joke. The children were actually very keen to sample some German food including; Frankfurters, Stollen Cake, Pretzels, Haribo, German Rye Bread. I’m sure you will agree we all had fun at Tannochside’s first December fest – our pictures I’m sure will give you an insight into our special day. Merry Christmas. Mrs. Fullerton.

I had a great time at the Decemberfest! i liked it when we made the Bavarian hats and the food tasting was intresting because it was German and I have never tried it before. We all had ginger beer as Jack had suggested beer ! It was great fun and I’m sure we ALL had fun! 😉

i had a nice time at the decemberfest. i didn’t have the fruit cake because it had raisens so i didnt think i would like it. i liked making the hats it was so fun beacuase i have never done it before at the start we preteneded that if you don’t wear your hat then you cant do the food tasting and if we don’t have our ich liebe dich (i love you ) hearts then we are not aloud in. i looked at the pictures and there was a lot of me so i am pretty awsome and so is my freind abbi i love it so much there are a lot more things that i want to talk about but there is tooooooooo much so i want to say a huge thank you to MRS FULERTON for putting it all together so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH BBBBBBYYYYYYEEEEEE
THE DECEMBERFEST WAS AMAZING ESPECIALLY THE FOOD TASTING BECAUSE IT WAS GERMAN FOOD.I REALLY LIKED THE PRETSELS. IF YOU WANT A FESTIVAL IN CLASS GO TO MRS FULLERTON BECAUSE SHE WILL ALWAYS BE AN AMAZINGEST TEACHER EVER.
i had a great time at the december fest it was so much fun tasting all the german food my favrouite part of the day would need to be making the ginger bread house’s 🙂 the german food tasted a lot different from scottish food and mrs fulerton let us have ginger beer.it was REALLY fun (^^^)

yesterday we made our very own gingerbread houses we made them out of biscuits and sweeties we had some icing to. Then we had ginger beer it tasted yucky but luckily Sophie T had to hold her nose and drink it.we tasted lots of german foods like pretzels and harrybows to.

Yesterday we had a december fest and made german hats and wore our german hearts.We also made gingerbread houses.We tried lots of german foods like frankfurters, german bread,German cakes and pretzels.We tasted ginger beer and it was revolting.
I really liked the Decemberfest I had lots of fun.I loved the Frankfurters and the Harbio were amazing.I did not like the Pretzels because they were too salty for me.The stollen cake was not nice because it had raisins in it and i do not like raisins.the german bread i did not like at all because it was brown bread and do not like brown bread so i did not like it.It was all a thank you to Mrs Fullerton because she made it all happen.we were getting ready for it all day. we made Gingerbread houses which was fun i loved it we put ice gems inside to make them look like people inside the Gingerbread houses. I loved making the Bavarian hats they were hard and easy at the same time i got it eventually i loved we put a wee feathar inside and we put a bit of coloured paper round it. I loved the day.
the decemberfest was very good but the bread was not nice and also the bread was not nice i liked the cherries and the cola bottles i want to say thank mrs fullerton for putting her effort into the german fest because it was the best also we all got beer it was a bit spicy

P5a have been learning about German Oktoberfest so we changed it we called it the December fest we had all different food we had pretsals,juice,francfurtes,frutecake,stole in cake. We had a great day we all thank our teacher So MUCH THANKYOU we apreshate it we love you.
Shelley came home telling me all about it she was so exited she codent stop telling me about it she kept talking.
The stuff Jason made was really cool, It is now part of our christmas tree.
I really enjoyed getting told by chloe about the decemberfest, I could tell she had a lot of fun.
Decemderfest looked loads of fun,Sophie really enjoyed trying the different foods but some of them were YUK!!!
